Plus, each time Studio is used as a plug-in (instead of stand-alone), it closes when you're done editing, requiring re-connection. This is a pain as I am (1) on a metered internet account, and (2) often in areas where there is either no or very limited and sketchy internet access, sometimes for several days.

In order to use the Pro Adjustments, you must allow Topaz Studio to connect to some Topaz server, or else they are grayed-out, unavailable. I tested the Precision Contrast and HSL Color Tuning Pro Adjustments, liked them better than Topaz Clarity, so bought the Pro package.Ĥ.

photoFXlab (pFXl) as the plug-in front-end: pFXl has some issues saving TIFFs that are viewable by FastStone (this is my wife's and some friends favorite image viewer/organizer) there are some extra steps to the saving procedure for each edited image, so Studio is much better for me as the host program.ģ. (I haven't tested it yet with, but since all the other plug-ins work fine, I imagine Studio will too.)Ģ. (AP can open ReMask directly, when needed.) So I have Studio configured as a plug-in for AP, and as a helper/editor for both Zoner Photo Studio 18 & FastStone. Studio is a better, faster, front-end for the plug-ins than AP. It works great as a front-end for the plug-ins. As a front-end for the plug-ins (I have the entire suite): while waiting for the photoFXlab update, I tried and then bought Affinity Photo Windows (AP). So what is the take on using Studio as a front end by now compared to just staying with FXLab? Can it lead to better or quicker images? Thank you.ġ.
